Schools and Institutions That Develop Our Children
In Ringkjøbing-Skjern Municipality we have given children and youngster our top priority. They are our future and they are the ones who will pass on the Western Jutlandic values of diligence, professionalism and pride to the following generations.
Therefore we prioritize our schools and institutions highly by giving education lots of attention.
Our public schools are dynamic, and the number of schools has been adjusted in order to ensure that the quality of the schools lives up to our expectations. The right quantity is no good without the right quality.
Ambitious goals and visions together with a competent and well-educated teaching staff is what we believe ensures that "our" children receive academic education at an absolute top level. At the same time it ensures that they leave school as people who are ready to explore all of life's opportunities - academically, creatively and socially, and as people with our Western Jutland values.
The academic part of the education can be document by the so-called PISA-assessments which are conducted within the OECD-countries and a number of countries outside of this union. Among other things, these assessments have shown that children in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality read better than children from most other municipalities! This has been our impression for a long time, but having it documented is certainly a pleasing confirmation.
Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality is home to 32 schools, 28 of which are regular public schools and four of which are special schools offering education to children between the age of 6 and 18 years.
