Lone and Richard Flansimose Hvas moved to Hvide Sande
Lone and Richard Flansimose Hvas moved to Hvide Sande four years ago. Both of them are originally from Harboøre and they have both studied in Århus - she studied to become nurse and Richard a civil engineer.
When Richard finished his studies he got a job at a company located in Esbjerg. It was at this point that they chose Hvide Sande as the place they would settle down and bring up their three children i.e. in a calm and safe environment.
- Hvide Sande and Harboøre are very much alike in many ways; the nature and the Western Jutland mentality and life-attitude. We both knew all along that we wanted to return to the west coast once we had finished our studies. And of course this area was a natural choice, as we would immediately have our circle of friends right by, Richard explains.
Today, Richard works as a logistics manager at the Vestas factory in Ringkøbing, and Lone spends her time at home around the youngest of the three children.
- I think Hvide Sande is a progressive town in many ways, for instance in regard to tourism and the facilities and sights that we can offer the tourists as well as the people who live here permanently. The area has very active citizens who make a tremendous effort to strengthen the local community and the strong sense of togetherness we have out here. Also, I sense a certain pride about being from Western Jutland and about our wonderful town, Richard says. Furthermore, Richard explains that it has been very easy for the family to settle down in Hvide Sande and become an integrated part of the local community with all its activities.
